How to create a WhatsApp Business account

WhatsApp Business is a different version of your beloved WhatsApp specifically for businesses looking to access WhatsApp's business tools.

WhatsApp Business allows messages to be tied directly to a single phone number for the company, and provides a business profile. This means that customers will immediately know who they are messaging rather than receiving a message from random phone numbers and wondering where it came from.

How do you create a WhatsApp Business account for your company?

First off, you need to download the WhatsApp Business app on your phone. The app is free, and you can find it on both the Android app store and the Apple app store.

Then, register your company with the phone number you intend on using (remember to include the country code!). You can pick between receiving a SMS or a phone call to verify that you have access to the number.

Note: you can either obtain a new number to use for your company, or you can convert your personal WhatsApp number into a business account.

Once you've picked an option for your number, and completed the verification, you can proceed to fill in the business details on your brand new account (including adding your logo or something meaningful as your profile picture). Once you're done, click on Explore, and then on Business Profile, to add more details to your account. This is your opportunity to present your business to your potential customers, and you can include a more detailed description of your business, your location and opening hours.
